Morning & Afternoon Colors

The colors detail raises the national and state ensigns at the front of Kingwood High School before the first bell.

1. 1Detail musters in Room 2600 before the first bell.
2. 2National ensign is hoisted briskly to the peak, followed by the Texas state flag.
3. 3The ensign is never allowed to touch the ground.
4. 4Detail renders the salute, secures the halyard, and returns to class.

Only the 6th period Naval Science class takes down afternoon colors.

1. 1The 6th period detail musters at the flagpole.
2. 2Texas state flag is lowered first, then the national ensign.
3. 3The national ensign is folded into the traditional triangle.
4. 4Both flags are returned to the Naval Science classroom.
